ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय । तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय । ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
 

Om Asato Maa Sad-Gamaya | Tamaso Maa Jyotir-Gamaya |
Mrtyor-Maa Amrtam Gamaya | Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||

Om, (O Lord) Keep me not in (the Phenomenal World of) Unreality,

but make me go towards the Reality (of Eternal Self), 

Keep me not in (the Ignorant State of) Darkness,

but make me go towards the Light (of Spiritual Knowledge), 

Keep me not in (the World of) Mortality,

but make me go towards the World of Immortality (of Self-Realization),
Om, Peace, Peace, Peace.

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥

Om Try-Ambakam Yajaamahe Sugandhim Pusstti-Vardhanam
Urvaarukam-Iva Bandhanaan Mrtyor-Mukssiiya Maa-[A]mrtaat ||

Om, We Worship the Tryambaka (the Three-Eyed One),
Who is Fragrant (as the Spiritual Essence), Increasing the Nourishment (of our Spiritual Core);
From these many Bondages (of Samsara) similar to Cucumbers (tied to their Creepers),
May I be Liberted from Death (Attachment to Perishable Things), So that I am not separated from the perception of Immortality 
(Immortal Essence pervading everywhere).

जय पापविनाशिनि बहुफलदे ।
जय शुम्भनिशुम्भकपालधरे
प्रणमामि तु देवि नरार्तिहरे ॥१॥

Jaya Bhagavati Devi Namo Vara-De
Jaya Paapa-Vinaashini Bahu-Phala-De |
Jaya Shumbha-Nishumbha-Kapaala-Dhare
Prannamaami Tu Devi Naraartihare ||1||

Victory to You, O Divine Goddess, My Salutations to You Who are the Giver of Boons,
Victory to You O Devi, Who are the Destroyer of Sins and Bestower of Many Fruits,
Victory to You O Devi, Who Wear the Heads of Sinful Demons Shumbha 

and Nishumbha (after slaying them),
I Bow down to You O Devi, You Indeed are the Remover of Pains of Human Beings.

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ ।
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥

Vakra-Tunndda Maha-Kaaya Suurya-Kotti Samaprabha |
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryessu Sarvadaa ||

(Salutations to Sri Ganesha) Who has a Curved Trunk,
Who has a Large Body and Whose Splendour is similar to Million Suns;
O Deva, Please Make my Undertakings Free of Obstacles,
By extending Your Blessings in All my Works, Always.

मनोजवम् मारुततुल्यवेगम् जितेन्द्रियम् बुद्धिमताम् वरिष्ठम्।
वातात्मजम् वानरयूथमुख्यम् श्रीरामदूतम् शरणम् प्रपद्ये॥

Manojavam Marutatulyavegam Jitendriyam Buddhimatam Varishtham।
Vatatmajam Vanarayuthamukhyam Shriramadutam Sharanam Prapadye॥

​

Let me pray to the one who is swift as thought (manojavam-),
the one who is more powerful than the wind (marut.tulya.vegam-),
the one who has conquered his senses (jitendriyam-),
the one who is supreme among all intelligent beings,
the son of the wind-god (vaataatmajam-),
the commander of the army of forest creatures (vaanar).
